Coaches

Played High School field hockey in the San Diego area and started coaching in 2003 and coached at several high schools in the San Diego area.  She has been the Head Coach at San Marcos High School for 13 seasons.  Coach Heidi has also been the director of Knights FHC since 2018.  Coach Heidi has her Level 1 coaching credential along with Level 1 umpiring credential She also plays on an adult recreation team in San Diego, along with spending time with her son.

My name is Coach Dana Evans and I am very excited to be part of the Knights FHC coaching staff!  I have known Coach Heidi for over 10 years now and truly believe that Knights FHC is among the best San Diego has to offer!  I love everything about field hockey, fitness, competition, and coaching young athletes.  I started playing field hockey in 5th grade and loved it immediately.  I was a defender throughout high school and the collegiate level, at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania.  My husband and I are originally from Philadelphia, and it was his career in the United States Marine Corps that brought our family to San Diego.  I have been coaching field hockey in North County, at the middle school through the club level, since 2013.  I have my L1 CrossFit Coach Certificate, ACE CPT, ACE Health Coach Certificate, and have competed in the 2023 DEKA Race World Championship and placed #13 among my age bracket.  As a mother of four adult kids and grandmother of two granddaughters, I understand how invested parents are in the success of their children.  I want your children to be successful too, which is why I take the time to care, invest in your children, and make sure they get the best instruction possible!”
